Klaisner / Kleisner Y-DNA
The Kleisner Haplogroup
I-ZS2875
Lowell's haplogroup from his Big Y-700 test is currently I-ZS2875. FamilyTreeDNA generated a Haplogroup Story for I-ZS2875 shown below. We note that it was formed around 200 A.D. and currently includes descendants from Scotland and the Czech Republic. Recruiting additional Big Y testers in Europe with the Kleisner surname will further refine the haplogroup and move the timeline closer to the present. Updates to the I-ZS2875 Haplogroup Story will be displayed on the FamilyTreeDNA website.

In 2021, Lowell Klaisner took a Big Y-700 test from FamilyTreeDNA to further investigate the genetic ancestral origins of the Klaisner paternal line. Note that Y-DNA testing is different than autosomal testing (available from Ancestry DNA, 23&Me, My Heritage and FamilyTreeDNA) in that it only yields results on the paternal line and it is for males only. Further information on Big Y-700 can be found in the article Why Big Y-700?.
The chart below shows the genealogical research to date for Lowell's direct paternal Klaisner / Kleisner ancestors.
