History of the
Ježovy Kleisner Homestead
Laurel visited Ježovy Nr. 31, the ancestral home of her and Lowell's grandfather Vaclav Klaisner, during her 2014 trip. Click here to go to a more detailed report of her visit, complete with lots of pictures!
Jan Ebert of czechancestors.com was able to obtain an early map of Ježovy showing households of Laurel and Lowell’s ancestors, as well as a deed of purchase for the Nr. 31 house to the Kleisner family. See below for the details.
1837 - Ježovy Village Map
The 1837 annotated cadastral (survey) map below shows first the Nr. 48 homestead in the upper right, where Laurel and Lowell's great-grandfather Václav Kleisner was born to Joseph and Anna (Hasenöhrl) Kleisner in 1843. Next we have the Nr. 17 homestead the lower left, where their great-grandmother Magdalena Koptík was born in 1846 to Josef and Katharina (Krs) Koptík. Václav and Magdalena would marry in 1867 and then purchase Nr. 48 from his parents Joseph and Anna on 30 Jun 1867. Then on 10 Oct 1870, Václav and Magdalena purchased the Nr. 31 property, in the top center of the map, and go on to raise ten children there, including Laurel and Lowell's grandfather Václav.
